JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Foreign Trade Zone Analyst will provide support for function, business, and strategic objectives related the FTZ operations at GE Aerospace’s Foreign Trade Zone facilities. This role supports compliance with U.S. Customs and drives operational excellence in alignment with GE Aerospace’s priorities of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC).
This role is open to remote consideration in the states that are listed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in trade compliance, foreign trade zones or customs analytics) + 3 years of experience in trade compliance, foreign trade zones or customs analytics

Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including the FTZ service providers to resolve operational/transactional issues related to FTZ operations (including timely 7501 entry filings).
  • Support FTZ operations and fulfillment teams in zone to zone transfer to ensure all required documentation is compliant for timely bonded imports and exports.
  • Working with the warehouse and FTZ operations team to support FTZ compliance audits.
  • Understand system processing in the FTZ ICRS system to align to program needs.
  • Develop knowledge of a technical discipline related to working in a FTZ operational environment.
  • Use prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy and procedures.
  • Collaborates with internal customs teams and facility FTZ operations and fulfillment teams to mitigate work-stops related to foreign trade zone imports and exports.
  • Uses judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve tasks. Able to utilize multiple sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
  • Supports several process and standard work improvement projects each year within the customs function.
  • Involved in problem solving and effectively escalates issues when appropriate.
  • FTZ system administration responsibilities including reporting, metrics, user access maintenance.
