EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES

  • Associate degree in Logistics, Business Administration, International Business Relations or a related field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in warehouse logistics, international trade, or customs operations.
  • Prior experience working within a Foreign Trade Zone environment is highly desirable.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTSUS) & Schedule B Classification systems.
  • Familiarity with Incoterms® 2020 and freight terms.
  • Understanding of U.S. Customs Regulations, Export Administration Laws, and FTZ procedures.
  • Computer literacy and SAP knowledge are preferred.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong team spirit, interpersonal skills, and a sense of responsibility.
  • Flexible and adaptable according to workload and operational demands.
  • The ability to generate new ideas and proactively identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Certifications in international trade, logistics, or customs compliance (e.g., CUSECO, CTPAT) are a plus.
  • Knowledge of freight forwarding and cargo container systems preferred.
Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the daily activities within the Foreign Trade Zone to ensure full regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation related to import and export transactions.
  • Accurately classify goods using HTSUS & Schedule B systems.
  • Ensure adherence to U.S. Export Administration Regulations and compliance with the Department of Commerce rules.
  • Apply Incoterms® 2020 and freight terms appropriately in logistics operations.
  • Coordinate transportation for domestic and in-bond cargo, ensuring timely and compliant delivery.
  • Serve as the point of contact for internal teams and external partners regarding FTZ activities.
  • Perform basic accounting functions related to FTZ operations and reporting.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and communication.
  • Stay informed of updates to customs and FTZ regulations, advising internal teams and updating procedures as needed.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and promptly address concerns from internal and external stakeholders.
