Join Balfour Beatty’s Power Transmission & Distribution Team
We’re hiring a Project Engineer – Substations to play a critical role in delivering the Apollo project near Bristol, while also supporting strategic National Grid developments across the UK.
In this role, you’ll work closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team to ensure successful end-to-end execution of substation projects — from planning and design through to delivery, commissioning, and close-out.
our Responsibilities:

Lead the engineering delivery of substation projects.

Translate complex requirements into clear delivery plans and brief working teams effectively.

Ensure high standards of project execution, including time, cost, quality, and safety compliance.

Manage and support project teams, driving productivity, collaboration, and a safety-first culture.

Monitor and report progress against customer and internal objectives.

Champion best practices in engineering, quality control, and leadership across all project phases.
Requirements:

Proven experience in substation engineering and delivery within power transmission and distribution.

Strong leadership and communication skills with a solutions-focused mindset.

Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex technical scopes.

Willingness to travel or work across multiple UK locations as needed
