Job Title: General Foreman

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a General Foreman or similar role in the construction industry.
  • Proven track record in civil or general construction projects, preferably within the UAE.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, techniques, and safety regulations.
  • Good leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English; knowledge of other site languages (e.g., Hindi, Urdu) is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of site documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

The General Foreman is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily site operations to ensure that construction activities are carried out efficiently, safely, and in accordance with project specifications and timelines. He acts as the key link between site workers, subcontractors, and the site management team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise and manage all site activities, ensuring compliance with project plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Monitor work progress and productivity of laborers and subcontractors to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Coordinate with Site Engineer and Project Manager regarding resource allocation, material requirements, and scheduling.
  • Ensure safety standards are strictly followed by all site personnel in accordance with UAE labour laws and company policies.
  • Inspect work performed to ensure it meets quality standards and report any deviations or issues to the engineering team.
  • Maintain a clean and organized site, enforcing housekeeping and safety rules at all times.
  • Keep daily records of labour, materials, and work progress for reporting purposes.
  • Assist in resolving on-site issues or conflicts and escalate matters that require higher-level intervention.
  • Support in training and guiding workers to maintain consistent performance and skill development.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of staff and ensure instructions are clearly understood and executed.
