Summary The Foreman II is responsible for the supervision and efficiency of technical staff in daily maintenance and repair of city vehicles and equipment. Serves as the liaison between internal departments and coordinating warranty/sublet repairs. Recommends and initiates personnel actions and performs a variety of technical tasks related to the assigned area of responsibility. Must be able to lift tools/parts up to 75lbs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervises technical staff in the completion of repairs and maintenance Serves as primary customer service representative for the Shop Coordinates and recommends procedures for facility and equipment maintenance, modification, including replacements Coordinates outside warranty and repair work Reviews invoices, work orders, consumption reports, and forecasts to estimate peak delivery periods and assigns work Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decreases turnaround times, streamlines work processes to provide quality seamless customer service Ensures targeted productivity goals & standards are met Ensures technicians take required training and maintain certification compliance Inspects operational areas for adherence to safety standards Opens, closes and updates work orders Supervises, evaluates, resolves grievances, and makes recommendations to hire and discharge Instructs and trains mechanics in the repair and reconditioning of automobiles, trucks, tractors, graders, sweepers, mowers, and other specialized equipment Performs inspections of completed repairs to ensure quality of repair Monitors spending to ensure that expenses are consistent with approved budget Follows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Three (3) years of experience in maintenance and repair of diesel engines, mechanical equipment, or related area Two (2) years of experience in supervisory roles Required to furnish own hand tools Certifications and Licenses ASE certification T4, T5, and T8 • ASE certification T6 and T7 or ability to obtain within one (1) year of hire EPA Section 609 Certification Valid Commercial Driver License Thank you for your interest in the position.
