The role Within Niron Staal Amsterdam, the pipe fitting department was established in 2015. Over time, this department has grown to include 15 to 20 pipe fitters, TIG welders, a production coordinator, and two project managers. In recent years, Niron Piping has successfully completed various projects for both internal and external clients. Due to the increasing workload and to strengthen the team, we are currently looking for a Foreman for the pipe fitting department. Key accountabilities Proper preparation, including determining the work sequence, capacity planning, and ensuring the availability of tools and materials; Allocating work based on established schedules and overseeing quality and quantity; Leading a group of pipe fitters and TIG welders, ensuring they perform their work competently; Ensuring workplace safety; Adhering to safety and company regulations; Maintaining a clean work environment; Providing instructions and guidance; Monitoring progress and quality; Applying personal knowledge and skills in practice and keeping up-to-date in the field; Timely reporting of work-related issues and proactive thinking; Contributing to increased efficiency and promoting company objectives. Skills & experience MBO level of education; Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within steel construction; Preferably from the maritime sector; Proficient in reading drawings independently; Willingness to work in the evening or on weekends; Holds a VCA VOL certificate or is willing to obtain one; Problem-solving ability; Good communication skills in Dutch and/or English; Leadership and motivational capabilities; Willingness to travel to other locations/yards when executing projects; Values a pleasant working atmosphere and actively contributes to it; A true team player capable of collaborating with various stakeholders (colleagues, customers).
