DAISY FAYS TRESILLIAN

Nestled on the edge of Tregothnan Estates conservation area, Daisy Fays Tresillian offers a tranquil and picturesque setting. Close to the creek of River Fal and surrounded by peaceful Cornish countryside, it’s an inspiring environment for children to explore and connect with nature. It’s conveniently located on the A390 between Truro and St Austell. Located to nearby villages Probus, Grampound, Ladock and Tregony, it’s an ideal workplace for practitioners seeking a serene yet well-connected nursery.

REQUIREMENTS: WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re seeking a passionate, resourceful individual who shares our belief in the power of outdoor learning. The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a Level 3 Forest School Leader qualification and a Full and Relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (essential).
  • Have previous experience working with children, ideally in roles such as Nursery Nurse, Early Years Practitioner, or Forest School Assistant.
  • Possess a deep understanding of child development and the ability to tailor activities to support individual growth.
  • Demonstrate a passion for nature-based learning, with the creativity and energy to inspire children through outdoor play.
  • Be an excellent communicator, capable of building trust and strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted Standards, Safeguarding, Child Protection, and Early Years legislation, Health & Safety.
  • Be adaptable, proactive, and enthusiastic.

Please note, due to our sector, all roles are subject to an Enhanced DBS and Paediatric First Aid certification. All personnel will be required to subscribe to the DBS Update service once the DBS has been applied for.

Responsibilities

As a Forest School Leader at Daisy Fays, you’ll bring the magic of outdoor learning to life, guiding children through exciting, nature-based adventures. Your role will include:

  • Planning and leading engaging Forest School sessions, where children can explore, discover, and develop through hands-on outdoor activities.
  • Encouraging a love for nature by creating opportunities for risk-taking, problem-solving, and imaginative play in our beautiful farm setting.
  • Tracking and reflecting on children’s learning journeys, ensuring they meet key developmental milestones in a stimulating environment.
  • Building positive relationships with parents and carers, sharing children’s achievements and the joy of their outdoor adventures.
  • Promoting and ensuring child welfare, protection, and safety, embedding safeguarding policies into every aspect of your work.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to maintain a happy, inspiring, and inclusive environment for children and staff alike.
  • Infusing every moment with your passion for the outdoors, empowering children to grow, learn, and thrive in nature.
