Position: Part-Time Forest School Teacher (2 Days and 5 days a week)
Location: Los Angeles, CA

ABOUT US:

Nature School LA is a forest school program where children learn through play, exploration, and connection to the natural world. Our classroom is outdoors — filled with trees, wind, soil, and endless wonder.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate Degree, Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2 years experience working with toddlers and preschoolers
  • Experience working outdoors
  • First Aid + CPR for children and adults certified
  • Comfortable with leading activities, games and songs
  • Familiar with the emergent curriculum is a plus
  • Have a reliable means of transportation
  • Have a working phone

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Environmental Studies, Biology, Ecology or other sciences
  • Min. 12 ECE Units
  • Knowledge of NGSS standards
  • Outdoor education experience
  • Experience in Reggio, Montessori, and/or Waldorf teaching models
  • Botany and plant education
Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

We’re looking for a creative, caring, and reliable teacher to join our team for 2 days or 5 days per week. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who loves children, values nature, and believes in hands-on, play-based learning.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Guiding children ages 2–5 in outdoor exploration, play, and projects
  • Supporting social–emotional learning through gentle guidance
  • Leading nature-based activities: storytelling, art, science, and movement
  • Ensuring safety, kindness, and joy in the outdoor classroom
  • Online: document daily activities, meetings
  • Develop lesson plans
  • Communicate with parents
