Description The Village of Mount Prospect is accepting applications for the position of Forestry Intern. Employment is for summer 2026. The position performs a variety of arboriculture tasks associated with the maintenance of the Village’s approximately 24,000 parkway trees. Essential Functions: The position performs a number of tasks related to urban forestry including the update of the computerized tree inventory, scouting for disease, responding to service requests, hazard tree evaluation and working with municipal forestry crews. Requirements Qualified candidates will have excellent tree identification skills and one or two years of college level training in arboriculture or related field. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Starting Rate: $15.00 - $23.00 an hour depending on qualifications. (40-hour work week. Duration of internship is approximately May 1 – Labor Day). Any offer of employment will be conditional upon the successful completion of a drug and alcohol screen.
