Job Details Job Location: West Salt Lake City, UT 84104 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $20.00 - $21.00 Hourly Job Shift: Any A Forklift Operator is a vital member of the logistics and warehouse team responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials, products, and equipment using forklifts and other industrial vehicles. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of a warehouse or distribution center. Primary Responsibilities: • Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, stack, load, and unload goods or materials as required. • Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, and ensure a safe work environment for yourself and others. • Move and organize products, materials, and inventory within the warehouse, ensuring the correct storage and retrieval of items. • Load and unload trucks, containers, or storage racks with precision and care to prevent damage to goods and equipment. • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records, including documenting product locations and quantities. • Perform routine inspections on forklifts and other machinery, reporting any defects or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel. • Assist in keeping the warehouse or storage facility organized, including the arrangement and labeling of goods, pallets, and shelving. • Effectively communicate with supervisors, coworkers, and other team members to coordinate work tasks and priorities. • Participate in quality control checks to ensure products meet the required standards before shipment. • Complete and maintain relevant paperwork, such as delivery receipts, inspection reports, and daily equipment checklists. • Work efficiently to meet productivity goals and deadlines, optimizing the use of time and resources. • Be prepared to handle different types of cargo, including hazardous materials, and adapt to changes in work schedules or tasks as needed. Qualifications • Valid forklift operator certification or license. • Proven experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment. • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices. • Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move heavy objects. • Attention to detail and good hand-eye coordination. • Strong communication skills and teamwork. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing work requirements. • Basic math skills for inventory management and load balancing. • Problem-solving skills for troubleshooting equipment issues. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Ability to lift 75 pounds frequently with mechanical assistance. • Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and 100 pounds occasionally. • Ability to constantly lift, bend, stretch and stand during entire shift. • Ability to push/pull up to 1,500 pounds using supplied equipment. • Ability to frequently kneel, squat, bend, and stoop, twist, and reach overhead with repetitive motions. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer • Constant exposure to allergens such as milk, eggs, fish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat and soybeans • Constant operation of a computer and other office machinery such as calculators, copy machine, etc.
