ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Able to operate a fork lift truck as assigned Pull, build & load lumber for delivery Remove material from vendor trucks safely Help maintain cleanliness of the lumber yard Maintain proper records for assigned fork lift truck Help customers in the lumber yard with loading and unloading of their vehicle Maintain proper certification for fork lift truck operator Assist with inventory and verify computations against physical count of stock Other duties as requested, directed or assigned. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: Previous lumber or building supplies experience strongly desired. High school diploma or GED preferred. 1-2 years of experience operating a forklift desired. Fork Lift Truck Operator certification required. Excellent communication skills are required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The position could involve standing, walking, reaching, lifting, bending, crouching, climbing, pushing, pulling and sitting for long periods of time throughout the day. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Exposed to cold weather in the winter and hot weather in the summer.
Responsibilities
The forklift driver is responsible for operating a forklift to pull, build, and load lumber for delivery, as well as assisting customers with loading and unloading. Additional duties include maintaining cleanliness in the lumber yard and keeping proper records for the forklift truck.
