We utilize advanced techniques to streamline construction processes, reduce costs, and prioritize sustainability. As an Equal Opportunity Employer, we value diversity and promote a collaborative work environment. The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate movement of materials throughout the facility. This role supports production and warehouse operations by loading, unloading, staging, and transporting materials while adhering to all company safety standards and operational procedures. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, communication skills, and a proactive approach to maintaining workplace safety and efficiency. A valid forklift certification is preferred but not required, as all new hires will be required to obtain in-house forklift certification upon hire. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct daily pre-operation inspections of assigned forklifts and document results in the corresponding equipment log. Immediately report any mechanical or safety concerns to the Warehouse Lead or Warehouse Supervisor. Unload and receive deliveries promptly upon truck arrival, ensuring packing slips are forwarded to the Material Receiving Clerk for verification of accuracy and condition. Transport materials to designated stations or departments as directed by the Warehouse Lead or Supervisor. Prioritize and process material requests from the production floor in the order received. Communicate any conflicting priorities or unclear requests to the Warehouse Lead for direction. Relocate, lift, and position materials as needed, including transferring stock to elevated jigs, removing obsolete inventory (“dead stock”), and supporting daily operational material flow. Assist with yard material deliveries and returns as required. Provide training and mentorship to Forklift Operator Levels I, II, and III on safe unloading, lifting, and storage practices. Support production fulfillment activities, including delivery of longer LVLs and other materials for the floor and ceiling departments. Perform “rescue and recovery” operations on the production floor as needed, ensuring safety protocols are followed during crane or modular lifting support activities. Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area in compliance with company safety standards. Requirements Proven experience operating an LPG forklift with a 5,000–10,000 lb. lifting capacity. Strong commitment to safe operating procedures and situational awareness. High level of attention to detail and organizational ability. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, tape measures, and material labels not required but preferred. Proficiency with basic math and measurement conversions. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience using hand tools, power tools, and other warehouse equipment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Work Environment This position operates primarily in a warehouse and production floor setting with exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and moving machinery. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times in designated areas.
