We are in immediate need for a Forklift Operator/Material Handler to: Work from written or verbal instruction, drawings, route cards to operate power forklift truck to transport materials, equipment, die components and/or castings as needed to facilitate production. Identify and sort materials and transport to proper locations. Store and retrieve materials and update storage or inventory records. Maintain log and service record on forklift equipment and report malfunctions to Supervisor. Maintain the department and hold areas in an orderly fashion. Accurately complete all department paperwork, including information on material movement (both computer and hand written). Perform general labor as needed to facilitate production and material flow. Participate in department work groups. Requirements Must be familiar with forklifts and other material handling equipment including cranes and hoists. Current forklift certification preferred, otherwise be able to obtain forklift license. Excellent hand-eye coordination. Good general knowledge of manufacturing material flow. Must be able to follow written and verbal procedures. Capable of lifting, pushing and pulling 50 pounds. Must be able to work with minimal supervision and successfully interact in a team environment. Responsibilities
The operator will use power forklift trucks to move materials, equipment, and castings according to instructions, drawings, or route cards to support production flow. Responsibilities also include identifying and sorting materials, updating inventory records, maintaining equipment logs, and completing necessary paperwork.
