Opus Packaging is currently searching for a Material Handler at our Caledonia, MI location. As a Material Handler, you can expect to operate a powered industrial truck in a safe manner in coherence with promoting the corporate vision, mission statement, and core values. What you need to be successful at Opus Packaging: * Must be 18 years or older. * High school diploma or equivalent. * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedural documents. * Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen. * Work safely. It’d be great if you also have: * Previous experience in warehouse or packaging environment. * Basic math skills. * Ability to properly use and understand the required measurement equipment including tape measures, micrometers, and other tools as required by specific jobs. During a normal workday you can expect to: * Operate Powered Industrial Truck equipped with lifting devices to lift, tier and load product into trailers or bins. * Ensure the smooth flow of materials to various departments on the production floor. * Operate a Powered Industrial Truck in a safe manner, following all rules and regulations that are set forth. * Ensure loads are stacked properly for safe transportation. * Be accountable for accuracy of shipping documents and verify that trailers are properly loaded while communicating with a supervisor about any discrepancies relating to orders.
