Description

The Role: CJ SHEERAN is Ireland’s largest manufacturer and recycler of timber packaging and pallets, providing a premium quality, sustainable and accredited packaging solution to Ireland and the UK’s diverse network of pallet consumers.
While we are undergoing exceptional growth and are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our busy pallet production plant in Cookstown, Dublin.
The successful candidate will play an integral role in the handling of inbound and outbound stock. This position is key to ensuring efficient stock control, accurate inventory movement, and timely dispatch of goods. Use of a handheld device will be as part of day-to-day operations, contributing to the smooth running of our warehouse and logistics processes.

Key Responsibilities: The role will include but not limited to:

  • Operate counterbalance forklift to move, load, unload and store products/materials in designated locations
  • Daily use of handheld device and ERP system
  • Inspect and maintain forklifts to ensure safe operating procedures
  • Complete forklift check forms as required and any additional documentation
  • Follow safety protocols and company procedures while operating machinery
  • Track and document inventory in compliance with company policy and procedures
  • Perform general warehouse duties as required, such as manufacturing of pallets, labelling, wrapping and strapping pallets in preparation for dispatch
  • Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations
  • Maintain a high standard of quality across all production outputs, ensuring all products meet company specifications and customer expectations
  • Participation in ongoing training and development
  • Assist in other departments as needed, offering flexibility to support the business’s evolving needs

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ operating a forklift in a busy manufacturing environment
  • Valid counterbalance forklift certificate essential
  • Comfortable using handheld device for inventory tracking and task management (no formal computer skills required)
  • Experience in ERP software (Enterprise Resource Planning) and/or internal inventory database
  • Strong technical ability, as in can pick up IT/technology quickly
  • Strong understanding of safety standards and procedures
  • Working knowledge of computer production programs preferable
  • Able to work under pressure, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Energetic, hard-working and enthusiastic
