Monte Metals Inc. is Canada’s industry leader in the design and fabrication of bridge railings, bridges, steel structures, and other transportation-related products. With continued growth, we are seeking a qualified Forklift Operator / DZ Driver to join our team. This role requires experience in heavy-duty forklift operation combined with DZ-class driving responsibilities to support our yard, shop, and transportation operations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid Forklift License with 3+ years’ operating experience.
  • Valid DZ Driver’s License 5+ years’ operating experience with:
  • Clean driving record.
  • Clean Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR) certificate.
  • Knowledge of safe driving practices and applicable traffic laws.
  • Knowledge of Hours-of-Service Regulations.
  • Knowledge and experience with load securement (NSC Standard 10, strapping, chaining, tarping).
  • Experience driving and towing trailers of various sizes.
  • Flatbed truck driving experience (preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret metric and imperial measurements.
  • Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and able to follow safety protocols.
  • Physically capable of lifting and handling materials.
  • Previous industrial environment experience (an asset).

Responsibilities
  • Safely operate heavy-duty forklifts (handling 48–60 ft lengths and heavy loads) to load/unload and transport materials.
  • Stage and supply materials for saw operators, welders, and fitters.
  • Maintain yard organization, housekeeping, and staging areas for production.
  • Load and offload trucks and trailers, ensuring proper load securement.
  • Perform routine forklift and vehicle maintenance, including pre- and post-inspections.
  • Operate DZ-class vehicles, including flatbed trucks, and tow trailers as required.
  • Complete driver trip reports, CVOR records, and vehicle condition reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies, company procedures, and applicable transportation regulations.
  • Work in both indoor and outdoor environments in varying weather conditions.
