About the Role: As a Forklift Operator in Training, you'll play a vital role in locating, retrieving, and stocking merchandise using the various types of trucks at the facility. What You'll Do: Reach Truck Operator: * Locate pallets of merchandise in push-back racks and deliver pallets to the shipping department * Retrieve pallets of merchandise from the shipping department and stock merchandise in push-back racks * Use hand-held scanner to accurately locate and stock merchandise Order Picker Operator: * Locate cases of merchandise in high-bay racks and quick-pick racks and manually place products on conveyor * Manually retrieve cases of merchandise from reserve storage department and stock cases in high-bay racks and quick-pick racks * Use hand-held scanner to accurately locate and stock merchandise Requirements: · Must be at least 18 years of age · High school diploma or equivalent preferred · A few years of warehouse/factory experience preferred · Able to work at heights up to 24 feet · Able to quickly read, learn, and understand standard operating and safety procedures · Able to frequently lift and carry 30 to 50 pounds independently, and up to 70 pounds occasionally with team assistance · Team player with a good attitude and attention to detail · Strong communication skills to include oral, written, and interpersonal · Able to multitask and prioritize efficiently Total Rewards: The Shoe Carnival, Inc.
