Description Forklift Operator / Material Handler Location: Elk Grove Village, IL Company: Legacy Foods Manufacturing Legacy Foods Manufacturing is a food manufacturer specializing in sauces, dressings, and related products. We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator / Material Handler to support warehouse and production operations in our Elk Grove Village facility. Position Summary This position is responsible for safely operating forklift equipment—primarily stand-up forklifts—while picking, scanning, staging, and transporting materials and finished goods. The role requires accuracy, attention to documentation, and close coordination with production, shipping, and receiving teams in a GMP-regulated food manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Operate stand-up forklifts (primary) and sit-down forklifts as needed Pick, scan, and stage orders accurately using warehouse systems Transport raw materials, packaging, and finished goods throughout the facility Deliver materials to production and remove finished product from production lines Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently Complete required paperwork and documentation for inventory movements, shipments, and receipts Work closely with production, quality, and shipping/receiving teams to ensure order accuracy Follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), food safety, and sanitation guidelines Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Report discrepancies, damaged product, or equipment issues to management Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures Work Environment Food manufacturing facility producing sauces and dressings Warehouse and production floor setting Requires standing, walking, lifting, and forklift operation throughout the shift Requirements Qualifications & Requirements Stand-up forklift experience required Sit-down forklift experience Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain Experience in a food manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred Familiarity with scanning systems and order picking Ability to complete basic paperwork and documentation accurately Steel-toe safety boots required Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed Strong attention to detail, safety, and cleanliness Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
