Description INTRODUCTION: This position reports to the Supervisor of the area they are working in. (i.e, Assembly, Welding, Shipping, etc). It is solely accountable for the fulfillment of all assigned duties and has authority delegated commensurate with assigned responsibilities. FORKLIFT OPERATOR: Performs functions pertaining to the movement of material in the warehouse/production areas and placement of materials/inventory with means of a forklift. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Include, but are not limited to: a) Operate forklift. b) General efficiency of providing the materials to the various lines they are working. c) Loading and unloading trucks, trailers or carriers. d) Placement of finished product and or materials/inventory. e) Rearrange Kan-Ban materials monthly to ensure oldest materials are used first. f) Verifying at the beginning of the shift, on a daily basis, that the fork lift is in good working order. This includes daily maintenance. g) Verify that all materials being moved are properly labeled and/or placed in properly designated, labeled areas. h) Any additional duties that have not been specifically stated, but which may be assigned and those that are logically and properly inherent to this position. Requirements REQUIREMENTS: a) General knowledge of forklift operation and material handling. b) Ability to gain Training Certification/Operator Permit for forklift as defined by company standards. c) Basic math skills as defined by company standards. d) Ability to read and write legibly as defined by company standards. e) Understanding of Basic Processes. f) Ability to gain knowledge of company products and company quality procedures. g) While performing duties of this job, the employee will regularly; sit, stand, walk, see, hear, reach, bend, twist, push, pull and occasionally will be required to stoop, kneel, lift or move objects of 51 pounds or less with or without assistance. I will be given written work instructions on how I am to perform this job and I will be fully trained in this position according to those work instructions. I understand that if I fail to perform, I will be disciplined, leading up to and/or including termination of my employment.
Responsibilities
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the movement of materials in the warehouse and production areas using a forklift. This includes loading and unloading trucks, verifying materials, and ensuring efficient material supply to various lines.
