JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Forklift Operator will support the operations teams by moving supplies and product where needed to maximize efficiency in the Greenhouse or Packhouse. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: * Transport product and supplies from one location to another using area’s assigned forklift * Follow all safety protocols while operating forklift * Support the greenhouse or packhouse operations as needed * Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers * Follow quality, food safety and service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations * Participate in any required company trainings, including safety, forklift, and food safety * Notify maintenance team if any repairs or forklift maintenance is needed KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: * Able to stand, squat, or kneel for extended periods of time * Ability to always pay attention and be aware of one’s surroundings while operating a vehicle * Knowledge of forklift safety rules EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: * Current forklift certification or current forklift certification from recent Fortune 500 employer; must complete internal forklift safety training upon being hired * High School Diploma/GED * 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment SUPERVISORY: * This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Greenhouse, 50% * The temperatures in the greenhouse vary depending on the weather outside * Climate can range from hot and humid to cold depending on the location and time of year * PPE must be worn at all times Packhouse, 50% * The temperatures in the packhouse are between 34-38° F to preserve product quality * PPE must be worn at all times PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like. * Occasionally moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces. * Occasionally remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. * Constantly moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another. * Occasionally adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions. * Constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. * Occasionally operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
