Job Description To safely handle, transport, and store raw materials and finished chemical products using forklift equipment, while maintaining compliance with all safety protocols and handling standards specific to chemical manufacturing operations. Responsible for the movement and transport of materials and finished goods in his area of responsibility. Assist in lifting materials for charging to mixers and during product filling in drums and flow bins. Responsible for the proper arrangement, segregation and storage of different raw materials for processing. Ensure that proper stacking of materials and finished goods is observed. Assist in the unloading of materials from tank trucks to the storage tanks. Participate and assist in the mid-year and year-end stock takes of materials and finished goods. Follow the safety guidelines of forklift operation and report any forklift malfunction to his immediate superior. Report to his immediate superior any forklift related incidents, accidents and near misses. Perform other related duties that may be required by the immediate superior. In his absence or during his annual leave, an alternate forklift operator is taking over of his duties and responsibilities. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Valid forklift operator license/certification. Basic understanding of chemical safety (e.g., SDS, labeling, storage compatibility) is preferred. Prior experience in a manufacturing or chemical plant environment is an advantage. Familiarity with PPE usage and safe handling of hazardous materials. Physically fit, with ability to lift or move heavy containers as needed. Strong attention to detail and safety-conscious mindset. Willingness to learn and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
