OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator and Tractor Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to facilitate the efficient movement of strawberries and lettuce within our farm. This role requires a strong understanding of farm operations, safety protocols, and the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed.

SKILLS

  • Proficient in operating forklifts with a valid forklift licence.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge for basic equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 25 kg) safely and effectively.
  • Basic mathematical skills for inventory management and record keeping.
  • Previous farm experience is preferred, with familiarity in loading and unloading vehicles.

Responsibilities
  • Operate forklifts, tractors and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Load and unload goods from lorries and containers, ensuring proper handling techniques are followed.
  • Perform shipping and receiving tasks, including verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure it is in good working condition; report any issues for repair.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to all safety regulations.
  • Assist with materials handling tasks as required, including moving products to designated areas within the farm site.
