Description

We are seeking a Formulation Chemist with a strong background in analytical chemistry and polymer chemistry to join our R&D team. This role will focus on developing, testing, and scaling new formulations for cleaners, adhesives, and polymer-based systems. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in raw material selection, polymer structure–property relationships, and performance testing, while ensuring regulatory and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research, design, and develop new formulations for cleaners, adhesives, and polymer-based products.
  • Apply analytical chemistry techniques (e.g., FTIR, GC-MS, HPLC, titration methods) for raw material and finished product evaluation.
  • Utilize polymer chemistry knowledge to optimize adhesive strength, curing processes, film formation, and long-term stability.
  • Select and evaluate raw materials, balancing cost, performance, and compliance.
  • Conduct laboratory testing for stability, rheology, adhesion, compatibility, and environmental resistance.
  • Document all experimental procedures, formulations, and performance data.
  • Scale successful formulations from bench to pilot and production levels in collaboration with process engineers.
  • Support regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, REACH, VOC limits, etc.) and provide technical input for product safety data sheets (SDS).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field (PhD a plus).
  • 2+ years of experience in formulation development (cleaners, adhesives, coatings, or related products).
  • Hands-on experience with analytical chemistry instrumentation and techniques.
  • Strong foundation in polymer chemistry, adhesion science, or surfactant chemistry.
  • Ability to troubleshoot formulations and processes systematically.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and teamwork skills.
