Chemist / R&D Chemist / Formulation Chemist / Product Development Chemist
We are excited to be supporting a new opening for a Chemist role due to company growth. This is an onsite position where you will join an established team of Chemists and contribute to the development of innovative consumer products. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, thrives in a collaborative environment, and brings experience from the consumer goods industry (creams, skincare, personal care, household, or related products).
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Schedule: Full-time, Onsite 1st shift
Pay Rate: $65,000–$110,000 annually

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific field
*
2–25 years of experience in formulation development within the consumer goods industry (personal care, creams, skincare, household products, etc.)
*
Strong lab skills with the ability to independently create and test formulations
*
Hands-on experience in product development, testing, and scale-up
*
Knowledge of raw materials, regulatory compliance, and industry standards
*
Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork
*
Highly self-motivated with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities

Develop and optimize formulations for consumer products (liquids, creams, skincare, wipes, unit-dose, powders, etc.) including stability and performance testing
*
Prepare lab batches, prototypes, and customer samples for presentations and production scale-up
*
Collaborate with raw material vendors to identify new ingredients and assess capabilities
*
Conduct raw material cost analysis and support cost optimization without compromising compliance or performance
*
Support scale-up activities from lab to production, troubleshooting during pilot and full-scale runs
*
Ensure formulations meet regulatory requirements (TSCA, EPA, FDA, etc.) and align with customer and sustainability standards
*
Partner closely with sales, customers, engineers, and the R&D lab to ensure successful product development and commercialization
*
Work with operations, purchasing, and quality to support cross-functional success
