Description Foster Care Support Specialist Department: Texas Foster Care Location: DFW Average Hourly Rate: $16.16 (Includes wage, incentives, bonuses, overtime, shift differential, etc.) About the Role Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families? Join our team as a Foster Care Support Specialist and play a vital role in supporting foster children and kinship caregivers during critical transitions. This position focuses on aftercare case management, transitional support, and parenting education to ensure stability and success for children discharged from the Texas Foster Care Program. What You’ll Do Provide six months of aftercare support for children transitioning out of foster care. Assist kinship caregivers with navigating the child welfare system and accessing resources. Support youth preparing for independent living, coordinating with case managers and PAL services. Deliver parenting education on child development, safety, and early intervention services. Ensure smooth transitions for behavioral health, educational, and rehabilitation services. Maintain regular contact through bi-monthly follow-ups and additional meetings as needed. Complete documentation and reports to track progress and outcomes. Advocate for cultural sensitivity and promote teamwork in all interactions. What We’re Looking For Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Experience: Minimum 2 years in child and family services preferred. Strong communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences. Ability to interpret technical and legal materials and prepare clear reports. Proficiency in basic financial and analytical concepts for program planning. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed. Physical & Work Environment Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
