  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Skills gained in customer service are highly applicable to this position.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Recruitment and Training Officer to support the activities associated with the promotion and recruitment of quality foster carers and the training that they and staff will undertake.
You will be responsible for completing the initial screening home visits of applicant foster carers so applicants can progress to become foster carers within Ideal Fostering. To work alongside the Responsible Individual to ensure all screenings are dealt with efficiently and to be instrumental in helping to organise and coordinate promotional events so there is a continuous supply of quality foster carer’s approved. You will also support with initial telephone screening calls.
In addition, you will be responsible for developing our training programme. This will include sourcing providers to deliver key training for our foster carers and staff, allocating training courses appropriately, and reviewing the provision to ensure it continues to meet the needs of Ideal Fostering as well as the National Minimum Standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To act as one of our central points of contact for prospective foster carers, providing high levels of customer service and a positive experience of Ideal Fostering.
  • Home visits may occasionally take place during evenings or weekends, with time off in lieu provided to ensure daytime flexibility.
  • Organising promotional events to promote Ideal Fostering to people who may be interested in becoming foster carers.
  • To be responsible for the day-to-day booking of training requirements for our foster carers and staff group.
  • Reviewing the training needs of our foster carers and staff group to meet the needs of Ideal Fostering.
  • Prepare reports on training and attending monthly meetings with the Management Team highlighting training needs that have been met or those that are outstanding and helping with problem solving for resolution.
  • Attendance and actively contributing in meetings as required.
  • To respond sensitively and professionally in supporting and maintaining professional relationships with colleagues and all contacts who work with the agency.
