Start a new career at Five Rivers Child Care? ​We are looking for a Fostering Support Worker to join our team working across East and West Sussex, based from our Brighton Hub. As part of the South/South-East Service, you will be working with an experienced team and in a culture where children are valued, respected, and listened to and involved in as many decisions as possible.
A Fostering Support Worker is an exciting and important role involving a range of tasks working directly with children and young people, Foster Carers, and other professionals to ensure quality outcomes for children/young people.
You will be involved in organising participation events with our children and young people, where you will be coordinating group and individual work and activities in a focused way as part of our agreed programme, supporting our families throughout the East and West of Sussex
You will also participate in supporting the growth of our service throughout Sussex by being actively involved in recruitment – building relationships within the local community and booking and attending recruitment events.
We are looking for someone is child focussed, ensuring they are at the forefront of all decisions. Someone who can work as part of a team and have excellent communication with children and adults. Additionally, experience of working in the fostering sector and/or with children/young people would be an advantage but not necessary. No formal social work qualifications are necessary, but an understanding of and empathy for the work required is necessary.
You will need to be able to drive for this role and have access to a car. Flexibility is essential in this role, as you maybe asked to work outside of 9-5 hours and on occasions at the weekends.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Good written and IT skills.
  • Able to communicate with children, colleagues, and external customers.
  • Able to actively listen to others.
  • Valid Driving Licence
  • Have the Right to Work in the UK
  • Therapeutic direct work with children, young people and carers preferred but not essential as training given
