Description Job Title: Molder Compensation: $21.00 per hr Schedule: 1st Shift (5am - 3:30 pm Monday-Thursday : Overtime Fridays and/or Saturdays) MOLDER POSITION SUMMARY The Molder is responsible for forming sand molds to fabricate metal castings. This role may be performed individually or as part of a two-person crew, using automatic, single-station, or two-station cope and drag molding equipment. Safety, attention to detail, and teamwork are essential for success in this environment. MOLDER ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Machine set-up (bolting pattern onto the molding machine. Placing flask onto pattern, set draw of flask) Apply parting agents to the pattern and flask to facilitate removal of mold from pattern. Sift and compact sand over the pattern to form the mold as needed. Move drag to lift station. Insert specified cores into the drag and cope as needed. Reassemble the cope and drag. Return flask to machine and repeat. Read and follow work instructions, job orders, and directives from supervisors. Maintain accurate production counts and personal time. Adhere to workplace safety protocols, maintain a clean work area, and always wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE). All other duties as assigned MOLDER QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or GED preferred. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to understand and follow detailed but straightforward written or verbal instructions. Ability to resolve minor issues. Regularly required to stand, use hands to handle materials, and feel surfaces. Frequently required to walk, reach with hands and arms, and communicate verbally. Must regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds. Must have good vision, including close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. MOLDER WORK ENVIRONMENT Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and vibration. Frequent exposure to extreme heat. The work environment is typically very loud.
