Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Geology Technician at our Fourmile operations. As part of the Fourmile team, the successful candidate will be results centric adding to our already challenging yet rewarding working environment supporting our mining operations. Responsibilities: Demonstrate safety leadership and safety consciousness Task train coworkers in the safe and efficient use of equipment Ability to manage the sample inventory and related warehouse material, safely, without damage to the people, property, or process Makes accurate records of new materials placed into storage. Maintains a full understanding of the storage locations Completes periodic daily workplace inspections and corrects problems within individual’s capabilities Accurately photographs drill core ensuring natural colors and minimal distortion Ensures timely shipments to laboratories and accurately completes required forms Demonstrate knowledge of state-wide warehouse locations and the ability to travel to and from these sites safely, while adhering to site safety and protocols Ability to identify naming and numbering errors in sample handling procedures Ability to read and understand material retrieval requests, collect these materials and ship accordingly. Participate in safety audits, training, and scheduling. Perform other duties as assigned by the Geology Department. Qualifications: Knowledge of safety and environmental policies and practices, and willingness to develop related skills sets required Maintain a valid driver’s license and ability to drive company vehicles required Ability to work within a team environment required Possess strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required Demonstrated safe work habits and ability to work with minimal direct supervision required Capable of lifting 30lbs repetitively and lifting 50lbs for short periods of time required Basic math skills required Previous experience working at a mine operation or exploration project preferred Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite preferred Thank you for your application, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted. #LI-JB1
Responsibilities
The Geology Technician will demonstrate safety leadership, manage sample inventory, and ensure accurate records and shipments to laboratories. They will also participate in safety audits and perform other duties as assigned by the Geology Department.
