A day in the life of the FP&A Analyst, (Americas Supply Chain) at VF looks a little like this.
The primary responsibilities of the FP&A Analyst position is to support the Sr. Manager, FP&A - Americas Supply Chain, Sr. Director Supply Chain Finance, and the CFO of Supply Chain and Supply Chain Leadership in the development, implementation, global coordination and communication of strategic initiatives and business processes. In order to succeed, this individual will utilize both relationship building and strong analytical skill sets to maintain current and develop new metrics and tracking systems to drive business effectiveness and efficiency across the regions.

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.

  • Reporting and analysis of Supply Chain Americas with accountability for data accuracy. Assist with identification of risks and opportunities.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis for all Supply Chain Central cost centers. Partner with cost center owners and Finance team to ensure detailed understanding of Global Supply Chain performance vs. budget, forecast and previous year.
  • Support the financial functions for two Sourcing hubs (ASO & PSO) including budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analytics. Consolidate Global Supply Chain Services spend and analytics across Supply Chain Central, ASO and PSO.
  • Create reporting, tools, and presentations supporting the Supply Chain Management team for reviews with Executive Leadership.
  • Maintain and modify standard reporting from BPC as needed.
  • Support Supply Chain Operations team, Finance Director, Financial Managers and CFO with ad hoc requests and other financial/operational projects such as reporting enhancements, SAP updates, and special projects.
  • Propose and drive enhancements in financial analysis. Critically review existing business and financial processes and recommend and drive enhancements with the Finance Manager.
  • Support Finance Manager with analysis on logistics by region, brand, and mode. Assist the brands with understanding during annual budget and regular forecasting process to ensure guidance is accurately reflected.
  • Complete monthly and quarterly distribution global expense reporting, including assistance with the budgeting and forecasting process, along with the Finance Manager.
  • Develop an understanding for product cost reporting and assist the Finance Manager with data compilation for the quarterly reporting process.
