Description The FP&A & Cost Accounting Intern is a part-time internship position (20–30 Hours/Week | 8–10 Weeks) designed to provide hands-on experience in manufacturing finance, operational analytics, forecasting, and executive reporting within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This internship offers practical exposure to financial planning and analysis, cost accounting, operational performance metrics, and cross-functional business operations. The intern will also complete a meaningful business-impact project focused on improving operational and financial visibility through reporting and dashboard development. Requirements Main Function & Responsibilities Assist with weekly forecasting updates and support rolling forecast maintenance Support budget-to-actual variance analysis and identify trends in labor, overhead, and production costs Assist with margin analysis and profitability reporting Support manufacturing variance reporting, labor efficiency analysis, and absorption reporting Analyze scrap, yield, downtime, and inventory trends to support operational decision-making Assist with standard cost reporting and ERP operational reporting validation Update weekly operational KPI dashboards and support leadership reporting preparation Build and maintain Excel-based reporting tools, dashboards, and data visualizations Support reporting automation and process improvement initiatives Participate in month-end reporting activities and financial analysis preparation Attend Operations and Finance meetings to gain exposure to manufacturing workflows and business processes Collaborate with Operations, Accounting, and Sales teams on reporting and data requests Develop an executive dashboard project connecting operational manufacturing metrics to financial performance Prepare and deliver a final presentation and recommendations to Finance and Operations leadership Job Requirements Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Interest in manufacturing finance, operational analytics, and business reporting Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional environment Exposure to ERP systems, reporting tools, or dashboard development is a plus
