Summary
For the “Data Analysis and Fusion” department, we are looking for an “FPGA Developer with a focus on image processing (f/m/d)” at the Aalen or Oberkochen location as soon as possible.
In order to enable the best possible protection of people and material, current development trends are moving in the direction of increasing the number and type of sensors in order to record as much information as possible. As people’s ability to evaluate this information is not increasing to the same extent, intelligent algorithms are needed to evaluate this sensor data and put it in relation to each other.
In this way, a picture of the overall situation is generated which relieves the operator and at the same time protects him in the best possible way. Your task will include the development and further development of image evaluation algorithms and their implementation on FPGAs in order to offer our users a better overview and safety.

Your Tasks

  • Requirements analysis and conception of FPGA architectures and implementation on the hardware platform
  • Design of FPGA modules with a focus on image processing and interfaces
  • Making strategic implementation decisions
  • Creating FPGA programming and simulations for the modules
  • Co-designing circuit diagrams with a focus on FPGA, IO and clocking
  • Carrying out circuit diagram reviews
  • Creation and implementation of integration and system tests
  • Definition and documentation of hardware and software interfaces
  • Hardware-related programming of the FPGA interface in C/C++ under Linux (kernel driver)
  • Setup, commissioning and evaluation of tests
  • Development and commissioning of video interfaces
  • Supervision of internal and external development partners and integration of development results

Your Profile

  • Completed studies in the field of electronics, electrical engineering, communications engineering, computer engineering or comparable
  • Experience with systems-on-chip, especially the Xilinx-Zynq UltraScale+ series as well as the Xilinx Vivado and Xilinx Vivado HLS Design Suite
  • Experience in digital image processing (computer vision)
  • Experience in code versioning with GIT
  • Experience in agile software development using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket and Bamboo)
  • Experience in working with measurement equipment
  • Experience in high-speed interfaces
  • Experience in RTL simulation, preferably with VUnit framework
  • Very good knowledge and experience in HLS and VHDL for FPGA programming
  • Team player with strong social skills and enthusiasm
  • Analytical thinking and willingness to take on personal responsibility
  • Very good knowledge of German and English
