Job Details: Job Description: As a FPGA Failure Analysis Technician, you are responsible for carrying out all technical FA activities in support of FPGA component returns from customers. This role works with the Altera FPGA Failure Analysis team in Quality Engineering, and partners closely with Product Engineers, Lab Technicians, and Applications Engineers at Altera. Tasks also include: Supports hands-on technical work: reball machine operation, IV curve tracing, FA preliminary preparation, and tool troubleshooting Handles FA case activities end-to-end, including data collection and assisting in report preparation Manages vendor communication for tool issues, parts, and maintenance coordination, reducing downtime and engineer workload Owns preventive maintenance planning and ensures lab equipment reliability and uptime Qualifications: Qualified candidates will have the following: - Technical Diploma in Electrical or related field - 5+ years experience in chip-level electrical or physical failure analysis in lab - Strong knowledge in semiconductors, preferably in Altera FPGA IC's - Capable operating experience with chip-testers, IV curve tracers, CSAM and TDR testers - Ability to work independently and as part of a larger technical team - Strong problem solving skills Job Type: Regular Shift: Shift 1 (Malaysia) Primary Location: Penang 15, Penang, Malaysia Additional Locations: Posting Statement: All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, religious creed, sex, national origin, ancestry, age, physical or mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, military and veteran status, marital status, pregnancy, gender, gender expression, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by local law, regulation, or ordinance.
