POSITION OVERVIEW

The Fractional CFO is an experienced senior finance executive engaged on a part-time or contract basis to deliver hands-on financial leadership, strategy, and operational rigor. This role is ideal for a seasoned CFO providing high-impact guidance while supporting GT Spirits through growth, capital planning, and advanced financial management.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required; CPA/MBA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance leadership, including prior CFO/fractional CFO experience in beverage alcohol, CPG, e-commerce, or startup sectors. Operations experience is a plus.
  • Expertise in financial strategy, fundraising, cash flow management, and investor relations.
  • Advanced skills with accounting systems, financial modeling, and analytics tools.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills; collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset.

Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop, refine, and implement robust financial strategies aligned with business goals, from scaling distribution to new product launches.
  • Advise CEO and executive team on financial forecasts, capital allocation, risk management, and long-term strategy.
  • Bring best-practice financial frameworks to support growth, innovation, and fundraising.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Oversee annual and rolling forecasts, scenario modeling, and cash flow analysis.
  • Provide dynamic budgeting leadership; identify drivers for COGS, gross margin improvement, and working capital needs.
  • Support strategic planning and preparation for board meetings, investors, and stakeholders.

Capital, Fundraising & Investor Relations

  • Lead or support capital raise initiatives, including securing investment, managing negotiations, and due diligence.
  • Maintain strong relationships with investors, financial institutions, and strategic partners.
  • Advise on valuation and structure for potential deals, acquisitions, or partnerships.

Financial Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee financial controls, reporting, and compliance processes tailored for a scaling spirits/CPG business.
  • Implement or optimize accounting systems, dashboards, and KPI tracking.
  • Ensure adherence to federal and state beverage alcohol regulation, tax compliance, and audit preparedness.

Risk Management

  • Proactively identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure insurance coverage, internal controls, and safeguard assets and company reputation.
  • Team Leadership & Collaboration
  • Mentor or oversee part-time, contract, or in-house accounting professionals.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally, including with founders, marketing, and operations teams.
