You are responsible for overseeing the stewarding department and ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the department within a hospitality or food service establishment. They are responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in all areas of the establishment, including the kitchen, dining areas, and other food preparation and service areas. The Chief Steward supervises a team of stewards and dishwashers and collaborates with other departments to ensure smooth operations.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • eadership & Management: Ability to supervise, train, and motivate stewarding staff.
  • Operational Knowledge: Strong understanding of kitchen equipment handling, cleaning standards, and sanitation practices.
  • Cost Control: Knowledge of chemical usage, breakage control, and stewarding cost management.
  • Safety Compliance: Familiar with occupational safety, fire safety, and food hygiene standards.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to plan staff schedules, oversee dishwashing, and maintain cleanliness of kitchen & F&B outlets.
  • Communication: Good English (written & spoken); other languages are an advantage.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long hours and perform operational tasks if needed.
