Description

Overview:
Identify, investigate and prevent fraudulent activity to protect the Bank and clients from financial loss and reputational risk. Work closely with internal business partners and stakeholders across the Bank. Conduct thorough investigations, document and reports findings, and contribute to the development and implementation of effective fraud prevention and mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze financial transactions and system alerts to identify suspicious activity and emerging fraud patterns.
  • Detect anomalies, assess risk indicators, and uncover potential fraud schemes using data-driven techniques.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into potentially suspicious activity and document findings in accordance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and file Suspicious Activity Reports (“SARs”) in compliance with applicable laws and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with internal business partners and stakeholders across the Bank to support investigations and resolve fraud-related issues.
  • Stay current on regulatory changes, industry trends, and best practices related to fraud prevention and detection.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance investigative skills and subject matter expertise.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum 1 – 2 years of experience in Bank Secrecy Act (“BSA”), AML/CFT (“Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism”), Sanctions or compliance at a financial institution required
  • Knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control (“OFAC”) regulations, strategies and enforcement policies.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills.
  • MS Office proficiency required (Word/PowerPoint/Excel)
  • Verafin and Fiserv experience a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
