About Act Second Act Second is a consulting and creative studio for a new generation of brand builders. We operate at the intersection of Strategy, Marketing, Digital, and Creativity, working with both established clients and high-growth startups. Our client portfolio includes premium and aspirational brands in DTC beauty, fragrance, and fashion, where storytelling and brand voice are essential to performance. The Role We’re looking for a Freelance Copywriter with strong experience in both conversion-focused and brand-driven writing. You’ll craft email marketing and flows, paid media copy, website messaging, and brand narratives across a range of lifestyle and DTC brands. You’ll collaborate closely with our strategy, creative, and growth teams, contributing to both agency client projects and Act Second’s own portfolio ventures. The role offers flexibility, with an expected commitment of 30 to 40 hours per week, depending on project load. Bonus if you feel comfortable in strategic tasks that increase performance across email, web and paid channels, such as drawing creative insight from data reports, optimization recommendations, and A/B testing recommendations. Key Responsibilities Email Marketing: Write campaigns and email flows for Klaviyo: marketing sends, and welcome, launch, post-purchase, win-back flows, etc. Craft subject lines, headlines and body copy optimized for conversion, personalization, and brand tone. Collaborate with designers and lifecycle strategists to ensure performance alignment. Paid Media: Create concise, compelling ad copy for Meta, TikTok, and Google campaigns. Adapt messaging for different creative formats, audiences, and objectives. Support creative testing with variations in tone, length, and CTA framing. Website & Brand Messaging: Write homepage, landing page, and PDP copy with clear structure, hierarchy, and brand personality. Assist in developing tone of voice guidelines, naming exercises, and storytelling frameworks. Contribute to rebrands, brand launches, and ongoing digital content initiatives. Who You Are 2–6 years of copywriting experience, preferably in beauty, fashion, or lifestyle sectors. Strong portfolio showing a balance of performance-driven and brand-led writing. Experience writing for e-commerce and DTC brands. Familiarity with Notion and Figma. Comfortable writing short-form ads, emails, websites and long-form brand content. Collaborative, proactive, organized, and adaptable to multiple brand voices. Native fluency in English (mandatory); we write for global clients in UK and US English. Able to work within CET or adjacent time zones. Nice to Have Knowledge of SEO best practices (for product copy or landing pages). Experience working in an agency or startup environment. Familiarity with TikTok/Meta creative trends and performance metrics. Familiarity with Klaviyo and Shopify. What We Offer Freelance contract with consistent, long-term work (30–40 hours/week).
