We are looking for a talented and dedicated freelance Graphic Designer with a strong focus on 2D design to partner with our luxury beauty client. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for creating visually stunning counter layouts and planograms that optimize space, improve customer flow, and highlight our client’s products in an engaging manner alongside the client. Your expertise in InDesign, planogramming, production art, and familiarity with SketchUp will be key to your success in this position. Prior experience in cosmetics, retail, and luxury are necessary. This role operates in a hybrid capacity with several days per week onsite at our client in mid-town Manhattan with the balance of the time remote.

Key Responsibilities:

• Counter Layout Design: Collaborate with senior designers to develop compelling and functional counter layouts for our retail spaces. Use your 2D design skills to create captivating displays that effectively showcase our products while considering space utilization and traffic flow.
• Planogram Development: Utilize your planogram skills to design and implement effective product placement strategies, ensuring that merchandise is presented in an appealing and organized manner.
• Design Iterations: Assist in generating design iterations and revisions based on feedback from team members and stakeholders. Your ability to iterate quickly and creatively will be crucial in achieving the best possible design solutions.
• In-Counter Design: Apply your design expertise to enhance in-counter displays, incorporating branding elements and product information to create a cohesive and visually enticing presentation.
• InDesign Expertise: Utilize your proficiency in Adobe InDesign to create eye-catching graphics, signage, and promotional materials for the retail environment.
• SketchUp: Utilize your basic SketchUp skills to create 3D visualizations and mock-ups to help communicate design ideas effectively.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including visual merchandisers, marketing, and store operations, to ensure that designs align with brand guidelines and strategic objectives.
• Attention to Detail: Maintain a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy and consistency in all design deliverables, from planograms to production art.
• Market Research: Stay updated with the latest retail design trends, competitor strategies, and emerging technologies to contribute innovative ideas and approaches to our store designs.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Graphic Design, or a related field is preferred.
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign for creating compelling 2D visual designs.
• Strong planogramming skills to optimize product placement and maximize visual impact.
• Basic knowledge of SketchUp for 3D visualizations and mock-ups.
• Understanding of production art processes and print specifications.
• A portfolio showcasing relevant design work, highlighting your creativity and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team environment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Passion for retail design and a keen interest in keeping up with industry trends.
• Prior retail, cosmetics and luxury experience required
