The Role: What’s in the Box As the HSE Consultant for our Early Access phase, you will help shape a safe start for a brand-new HelloFresh site in the Benelux. You will be the visible safety lead on the construction site, making sure your contractors, partners, and colleagues work safely and in line with legal requirements and HelloFresh standards. You will build and strengthen the safety culture from day one, so that a smooth transition from construction to live operations becomes possible. In this role, you will work closely with the HSE Manager and local project team, using our DNA values like “Customer Centricity” and “Learning Never Stops” to continuously improve how we work. Practical details of the assignment: Period: 3 to 4 months Hours per week: 40 Start date: January End date: March–April On-site presence: fulltime Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. What You’ll Do: The Recipe Act as the on-site HSE point of contact during the Early Access and pre-operational phase, collaborating closely with the HSE Manager, project team, and external contractors. Keep the construction site in a safe condition after handover by monitoring daily activities, checking work areas, and addressing unsafe situations with the people involved. Coordinate and oversee changes to the building and technical installations during Early Access, making sure they meet HSE and legal requirements. Prepare, review, and manage permit-to-work activities (for example hot work, electrical work, and working at height) and ensure everyone involved understands and follows the rules. Support the setup of the emergency response (BHV) organization on site, including evacuation planning and alignment with local stakeholders. Lead investigations into incidents and near misses together with internal and external partners and follow up on corrective and preventive actions. Carry out internal HSE checks and contribute to the Risk Inventory & Evaluation (RI&E) so that risks are clearly documented and acted upon. What You’ll Bring: Your ingredients A bachelor’s degree and an MVK or HVK qualification, or a comparable combination of education and experience in Health & Safety. Several years of experience in a Health & Safety role, ideally in a construction, industrial, or early-stage operational environment. Strong knowledge of Dutch Health & Safety regulations, risk assessments (RI&E), and practical experience with contractor safety and permit-to-work systems. Experience with BHV and emergency response procedures, and the ability to translate plans into clear actions on site. Confident communication skills in both Dutch and English, with the ability to address unsafe behaviour in a clear and respectful way.
