JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in computer networking and IT infrastructure, with hands-on experience in managing and securing network systems. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining network solutions that ensure high availability and security for our organization. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support our network architecture and contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Proven experience in network engineering with a focus on Cisco technologies (Cisco ISE, Meraki).
  • Strong understanding of computer networking concepts including routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), DHCP, DNS, LDAP, GPOs, NFS, SSH.
  • Familiarity with operating systems such as Linux (Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu), Windows Server environments (Active Directory), macOS.
  • Experience in virtualization technologies (VMware vSphere) and telecommunication systems (VoIP).
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) along with experience in implementing cloud security measures.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for automation tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively within an Agile framework while managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and manage WAN and LAN infrastructures to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Configure and maintain Cisco ASA firewalls, VPNs, and other security measures to protect network integrity.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and implement necessary security protocols including PKI, IDS, and encryption methods.
  • Oversee data center operations, ensuring high availability through load balancing and redundancy strategies.
  • Manage network protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, and MPLS for efficient data routing.
  • Utilize monitoring tools like SolarWinds, PRTG, and Splunk to analyze network performance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate cloud security measures within AWS, Azure, or other cloud environments.
  • Develop scripts using Python or Bash for automation of network tasks and system administration.
  • Maintain documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures in accordance with ITIL standards.
  • Provide technical support for network-related issues while ensuring adherence to best practices in network management.
