REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficiency in various art forms and mediums, with a strong foundation in art techniques and design principles.
  • Previous experience teaching art to children, especially in a one-to-one setting.
  • A relevant degree or certification in art education, fine arts, or a related field is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and encouraging approach to teaching.
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to suit different learning styles and individual needs, especially for children with learning or special needs.
  • A passion for inspiring creativity and fostering artistic growth in children.

Responsibilities
  • Provide individualised art instruction tailored to each student’s abilities, interests, and personal goals.
  • Develop and implement creative lesson plans that teach artistic techniques, colour theory, design principles, and other key concepts.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging environment where children can freely express their creativity and develop their artistic abilities.
  • Adapt lessons to accommodate the needs of children with learning or special needs, ensuring inclusivity in every class.
  • Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching methods to meet the evolving needs and skills of each student.
  • Introduce students to a variety of artistic mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media.
  • Collaborate with families to keep them informed about their child’s progress and suggest ways to encourage artistic exploration at home.
  • Stay updated on current trends in art education and incorporate innovative techniques into teaching.
