We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced teacher as a freelance GCSE & KS2/3 Maths and/ or Science tutor. The successful candidate will join our team of experienced tutors in delivering personalised tutoring sessions to some primary students but mostly WJEC GCSE students, ensuring they receive comprehensive support and guidance to excel in their studies. We have students from all the local secondary schools so we cover Tredegar, Brynmawr, Ebbw Vale, Blackwood, Crickhowell and Abergavenny areas

Responsibilities:

• Conducting 1:1 and potentially small group tutoring sessions for GCSE students, FACE TO FACE in local area. (rate will be higher for group sessions) Please DO NOT apply if you cannot travel to the Ebbw Vale/ Gilwern area.
• Developing tailored lesson and teaching materials to meet the individual learning needs of students.
• Providing constructive feedback and assessment to monitor student progress and identify areas for improvement via Tutorbird
• Cultivating a positive and supportive learning environment conducive to academic success.
• Demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in accommodating students’ learning preferences and schedules.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in KS2/3/ GCSE Maths and Science curriculum and examination requirements.
• An up to date DBS Certificate
• A relevant teaching qualification
• Proven experience in teaching or tutoring KS2/3/ GCSE Maths or Science students, preferably in a freelance or tutoring capacity.
• An understanding of the demographic/ background of students from this local area.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students effectively.
• A passion for education and a commitment to supporting students in achieving their academic goals.
