REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certified NFPA 1072 / NFPA 472 HAZMAT Operations Level Instructor.
• OSHA HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) Instructor Certificate (preferred).
• Train-the-Trainer or recognized instructional qualification.
• First Aid, CPR, or EMS certification is a plus.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 5 years of operational experience in HAZMAT response (fire department, industrial response, or emergency services).
• Minimum 2 years of experience delivering professional training at Awareness or Operations level.
• Experience working with oil & gas, industrial sites, or high-risk sectors is strongly preferred.

KEY SKILLS:

• Expert understanding of hazardous materials classification, chemistry, and response procedures.
• Strong instructional, facilitation, and scenario-based training delivery skills.
• Skilled in using SCBA, detection devices, chemical suits, and containment tools.
• Proficient in developing emergency response plans and decontamination protocols.

JOB PURPOSE

To plan, deliver, and evaluate training programs for Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) Operations Level responders in accordance with NFPA 1072, NFPA 472, OSHA HAZWOPER, and local Civil Defense requirements. The trainer ensures learners are equipped with the knowledge, practical skills, and certifications required to recognize, contain, and operate safely in hazardous material environments.
