Description

This position will be responsible for sourcing and soliciting both new and existing business through forging strong professional relationships at multiple levels within the Third-Party Logistics industry segment. This role will incorporate frequent personal contact through all appropriate communication methods. You’ll work closely with sales and operations in the pursuit and maintenance of the predetermined company revenue and profitability targets. The preferred candidate should possess some background in the transportation of LTL and FTL within the truck transportation and logistics industry.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma, G.E.D, or equivalent
  • 3+ years’ experience in a TL and LTL Logistics Coordinator environment
  • 3+ years’ experience in procuring freight through load boards and load brokers
  • Good knowledge of freight principles, industry tools and load boards.
  • Strong problem-solving, identification, and objection resolution skills.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-starter with a high level of integrity and work ethic

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Planning team to determine freight requirements to achieve maximum utilization, efficiency and profitability.
  • Book freight to meet truck capacity requirements provided by the Planning team
  • Build strong relationships with load brokers (3pl).
  • Identify and generate LTL and FTL business through constant personal contact within the Third-Party Logistics and Freight forwarding industries.
  • Utilize various industry load board tools to solicit LTL and FTL business in achieving common goals.
  • Quote rates to 3Pl and Freight Forwarders as required.
  • Support scheduling and order entry of bookings.
  • Cultivate new and existing relationships within the 3pl market segment and their various partners.
  • Maintain a high level of service through regular personal contact, thereby cementing strong business relationships.
  • Develop and build relationships with additional contacts within existing accounts.
  • Collaborate closely with Customer Service to ensure high-level customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate closely with operations to ensure the smooth operation and flow of both freight and documentation.
  • Manage and maintain the smooth operation of outbound LTL programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
