OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Freight Forwarder to join our dynamic logistics team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the transportation of goods, ensuring compliance with regulations, and facilitating effective communication between clients and carriers. This position requires strong organisational skills, an understanding of supply chain processes, and the ability to negotiate effectively.

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in freight forwarding or a similar logistics role is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain dynamics and logistics principles.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of achieving favourable outcomes in freight agreements.
  • Proficient in data entry and management, ensuring accuracy in documentation and reporting.
  • Previous experience in sales or customer service within the logistics sector is beneficial.
  • Previous experience in customs compliance is beneficial.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage the shipment of goods from origin to destination, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Negotiate freight rates and terms with carriers to optimise costs and service levels.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including FDA regulations for specific shipments.
  • Maintain accurate records through data entry and management of shipping documents.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to support lead generation and sales management efforts related to freight forwarding services.
  • Monitor shipment status and communicate updates to clients, addressing any issues that may arise during transit.
  • Work closely with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to streamline operations and improve service delivery.
  • Analyse supply chain processes for efficiency improvements and cost reduction opportunities.
