REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s in logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in import/export, freight forwarding, logistics, or compliance roles.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics or customs software.
  • Excellent detail orientation, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of HTS classification, customs procedures, and U.S. CFR regulations.
  • Analytical, problem-solving mindset; ability to work independently and adapt to changes.
  • Ethical, professional conduct under pressure.
  • Physical capacity for light office tasks and occasional lifting (up to 20 lbs); able to travel domestically.
  • Dangerous Goods certified

Responsibilities
  • Documentation & Record-Keeping (45%)
  • Prepare, review, and verify bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, etc.
  • Ensure accurate HTS classification and tariff matching.
  • Maintain internal tools (e.g., duty & tax calculator) and documentation retention per CFR19.
  • Customs & Trade Compliance (25%)
  • Coordinate with customs brokers; audit import/export documentation for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Support export control review, trade restriction monitoring, sanctions due diligence.
  • Facilitate Duty Drawback filings and U.S. Customs assists data collection.
  • Auditing & Quality Assurance (15%)
  • Conduct internal audits of shipping files.
  • Ensure documentation readiness for external and internal audits.
  • Support continuous improvement of compliance processes.
  • Coordination & Communication (10%)
  • Collaborate with carriers, brokers, warehouses, customers, and internal teams (accounting, legal, supply chain).
  • Provide shipment updates, resolve discrepancies, and escalate issues.
  • Additional Support (5%)
  • Assist in compliance program initiatives, training, KPI tracking and special projects.
  • Maintain ethical standards and adhere to company policies.
