SECONDARY FRENCH IMMERSION SCIENCE/MATH

Richmond School District operates 37 elementary schools, 10 secondary schools, alternate programs, continuing education and a number of additional facilities. The district enrolls approximately 22,000 students (K-12) and employs over 3800 dedicated staff.
The Richmond School District is currently seeking a continuing full-time French Immersion secondary science/math teacher with a focus on biology. The successful candidate for this position must have current academic and professional preparation as well as teaching experience in Science at the secondary grade levels. This position is continuing with no end date.
This position includes 7 blocks of Science 8-12. Please note that this position includes FI Science and may also include Life Sciences 11. The specific courses are still to be determined in consultation with the science department. Students will range from emerging learners to those who are highly motivated and capable learners. The successful candidate for this position must have current academic and professional preparation, including math course work at the 300 and 400 level, as well as teaching experience in science at the secondary grade levels. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to connect with and adapt learning experiences for students from diverse backgrounds and with a wide variety of learning needs and styles. Recent work experience must reflect a commitment to collaboration and teamwork and a willingness to work closely in a professional and supportive environment with members of the science department.
