Description

IS2 is currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Fresh Produce Quality Control Specialist to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will have experience in fresh produce quality control, either in a warehouse or retail setting. Salary: 48k – 53k (Based on experience)
Shift Times: Monday to Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

MUST HAVE FRESH PRODUCE EXPERIENCE EITHER IN WAREHOUSE OR RETAIL

  • Understanding of HACCP and Food Safety Regulatory Requirements
  • An excellent eye for detail
  • Excellent verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills – in order to report product condition to ensure that it meet specifications
  • Team player, adaptable, and energetic with a positive professional attitude
  • Demonstrate ability to work unsupervised and meet key deadlines
  • Competency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Microsoft Word) and possess the ability to learn our Warehouse Management System.
  • Ability to work in high-paced environment
  • Good time management skills
  • Highly organized; knowledgeable and follow the company’s policies and procedures
Responsibilities
  • Conducting quality audits on inbound produce loads to create quality reporting and documentation for the Warehouse Managers and Sales Team
  • Conducting checks of outbound produce to recognize issues and communicate with Sales Team
  • Understanding customer product specification concerning quality and how to apply those specifications to product destined for that customer
  • Arranging and recommending CFIA audits for product inspections when inbound quality audits recognize defects do not pass the federal guidelines.
  • Conducting daily facility walks to recognize aging product and other quality issues that may present in stored product.
  • Be involved in the putaway planning process alongside shipping/receiving to plan cooler space for all commodities arriving at the facility
  • Assisting with coaching, teaching, and training of warehouse employees on fresh produce quality and specification requirements
  • Assisting in month-end inventory counts as required
  • Other projects and responsibilities as may arise
