Description

We are seeking a friendly and organized Front Counter Sales Associate to join our team. This role will help identify client needs, present and answer questions about our products and services, and recommend solutions. A positive attitude and a desire to promptly resolve potential customer issues or complaints will make you successful in this role. Ultimately, you will ensure that customers leave our store satisfied and you will contribute to the store’s profitability.
This role does provide the opportunity to make commission!

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • 2+ years in a sales or office administration position is preferred.
  • Basic Math Skills.
  • Ability to work in a high volume fast paced environment and still provide a high level of customer service.
  • Understanding of the retail sales process.
  • Familiarity with consumer behavior principles.
  • Knowledge of inventory stocking procedures.
  • Understands accounting fundamentals such as payables, receivables, and GL Coding is helpful, but not required.
  • Beginning to intermediate computer skills and ability to utilize all business systems with proficiency; intermediate Excel preferred.
  • 10-Key proficiency.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequently stand, stoop, bend and kneel
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time while assisting customer needs
  • Occasionally lift 20 pounds unassisted
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, read, and identify numbers.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with the Sales team to provide excellent customer service.
  • Greet and direct customers.
  • Provide accurate information to customers with attention to detail and after-sales follow-through.
  • Cross-sell products.
  • Take and direct phone, email, mail, and in person customer, vendor, and employee contacts.
  • Work alternative work schedules which could include weekends.
  • Cash – Daily Reconciliation and bank deposit
  • Conduct self in a professional and ethical manner at all times. Treat external and internal customers and associates with courtesy and respect.
  • Fill customer orders by retrieving material from the warehouse.
  • Check in and put away material, verifying quantities and quality of received material. Maintain clear aisles and walkways. Ensure material is properly organized.
  • Assist in maintaining the appearance of the branch as needed. Clean warehouse, counter area, bathrooms, etc.
  • Keep the showroom updated by ensuring racks are fully stocked and clean. Keep inventory organized and put away.
  • Continuously update product knowledge. Stay informed and educated as to product inventory and applicability. Locate merchandise at other locations when needed.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training as directed or desired.
  • Answer telephones professionally and pleasantly, assisting customers, taking orders and providing excellent customer service.
  • Notate back orders or discrepancies.
  • Perform cycle counts as required following through on discrepancies as needed.
  • Participate in weekend inventory events as scheduled.
  • Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner, following all safety rules. Inform manager of any potentially hazardous conditions.
  • Perform other responsibilities as directed.
