We are seeking a Building Materials Consultantwho is driven to work closely with contractors, homebuilders and self-builders by developing new relationships and growing accounts through leveraging our specialty lines: Lumber, Drywall, Insulation, Roofing, Masonry and Window & Doors.

  • Able to quickly develop a trusting relationship with new customers, and build rapport with existing customers by providing quality customer service and maintaining service standards

Responsibilities
  • Provide the highest level of service to all customers.
  • Always maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers
  • Advises customers by providing knowledge of products and services
  • Ensure special order products are ordered in a timely manner following correct ordering procedures
  • Follows-up on estimates, special orders and products ordered for customers
  • Comply with company’s pricing policies and procedures
  • Work with other team members and leaders to ensure a high-quality customer experience.
  • Deal directly with vendors and complete special orders as required
  • Drive sales through engagement of customers, consultative sales, and sharing of product knowledge
  • Clarify and understand customers’ needs and provide them with the best solution(s) for their projects.
  • Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions
  • Take initiative and confidently direct customer interactions
  • Produces quotes, material lists and complete follow up with customers
  • Resolve customer challenges quickly and efficiently.
  • Maintains knowledge on products and market conditions
  • Works closely with Head Office for special pricing
  • Strong communication with management and foreman for upcoming projects to ensure inventory is available in a timely manner
